Meet Noemi Girón
LCSW-C
Noemi Girón is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland. Noemi received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Latin American Studies from Towson University and her Master’s of Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from The Catholic University of America. She is working towards certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is currently certified in providing clinical services in Spanish through the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.
Noemi’s passion is working with children, adolescents and families who have experienced trauma, particularly within underserved populations. Her previous clinical work experience includes Title I schools and outpatient mental health clinics at House of Ruth Maryland, and the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute (KKI). At KKI, Noemi was an integral part of the Avanza Clinic, which served the Latinx community by providing trauma-focused therapy and she served as the coordinator for the TF-CBT Clinic where she assigned TF-CBT cases and provided support with the implementation of the TF-CBT model to clinicians.
Noemi aims to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to come as they are. Utilizing Evidence-Based Therapies such as DBT, TF-CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. Noemi seeks to help clients strengthen regulation skills, reduce high-risk behaviors and process their trauma history. Using mind-body informed techniques, Noemi incorporates interventions such as art, guided imagery, movement, and breathing to strengthen clients’ mindfulness and coping skills.
